Logistics play a key role
Logistics at Behr ensure worldwide customer service and are more than merely transporting a product form A to B. Logistics integrate all activities along the value-added chain and are a key component in developing and manufacturing our products and services Products and services . As performance partner we have made it our goal to offer more than components, modules and systems - we supply our customers with complete systems integration. This is only possible over the long-term when logistics play a key role in designing, planning, and controlling the added value network, resulting in a continually excellent logistics performance - just like at Behr.

We include the logistical processes right from the beginning of each project. We develop an individual logistics strategy together with our customers which meets customer requirements in terms of process quality, our ability to respond, and costs. Before one of our products goes into series production, the subsequent logistical process chain has already been determined - from product testing, packaging, and shipping right up to installation in the customer’s conveyor.

Behr has many years of practical experience in successfully implemented logistics concepts. From pick-up processes, supplier logistics center concepts, warehouse on wheels, long distance SILS, drop ship, JIT delivery, or JIS delivery - there is almost no modern-day concept that Behr has not used already. Last but not least, our outstanding process and IT competence makes Behr a partner that customers like to work with to pilot innovative and unique concepts.

Implementation of JIS (just-in-sequence) delivery is a key competence at Behr. Using JIS, we supply our products to customers in sequence, so they can install Behr products in a synchronized manner.

JIS supply for BMW and MAN
BMW and MAN are two of our customers that are supplied in sequence. Some of the customers’ factories are supplied by our Behr production locations according to the order of installation. To optimize processes and costs, we have developed and implemented specific assembly processes, adapted concepts for transport to the customers' plants, defined emergency concepts, and adjusted the upstream production processes.

By changing to just-in-sequence delivery, MAN and BMW no longer need their plant warehouses, and have thus freed up valuable space for assembly. For BMW we have additionally simplified handling and reduced grab times and distance costs in assembly.

The examples of BMW and MAN show that this logistics concept will eventually become a standard delivery process for more and more automobile manufacturers, thanks to the potential for savings in time and costs.
