Our first joint venture in the world’s fastest-growing automotive market was formed at the end of 2003 with Shanghai Automotive (SA), a subsidiary of SAIC, the largest automotive manufacturer and supplier group in China. SBTS produces HVAC units as well as cooling modules and climatic heat exchangers for passenger cars.In mid 2005, the joint venture relocated production to a new plant in Shanghai.

Dongfeng Behr-Thermal Systems (DBTS)
Working along with Dongfeng Motors, the largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles in China, we set up the joint venture Dongfeng Behr Thermal Systems (DBTS), located in Shiyan and Wuhan. The company produces copper/brass radiators and HVAC units for passenger cars and commercial vehicles, as well as aluminum products such as radiators and charge air coolers for commercial vehicles. By commissioning a new plant in Wuhan, we now fulfill all the prerequisites for producing commercial vehicles in Chinathat comply with worldwide Behr standards.

SSB was founded together with Shanghai Automotive (SA) in the spring of 2004 and is the number one company in Chinafor coolant compressors for HVAC units used in passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Other partners include the Sanden Corporation, which is already the industry leader in Japan, as well as the industrial development company Longhua.
