Career starter and professional applications

How should I apply?
We prefer online applications submitted via our Behr applicant management system, as this is the simplest and fastest way for us to receive your data. However, you can also send your application via post.
We will, of course, always handle your application as confidential, particularly in regards to your current employment.

Which documents should be included with my application?
We look forward to receiving your complete application - either online or via post. This helps us to avoid further enquiries. Your application should include a cover letter, résumé, all relevant school and university certificates, and job references. If applying online, please submit all of these documents as attachments (see below).

What does Behr value in particular?
You have a good chance of getting our interest with a complete application, well-formulated letter (with exact information on the specific division you would like to work in), and the relevant professional knowledge or job experience.

What will happen with my application?
We will send you an acknowledgement once we have received your application. Afterwards, we will go through your application in the specialist department. Please understand that this process takes a certain amount of time. We will contact you as quickly as possible to, either invite you to an interview or inform you that you do not optimally meet our requirements for this particular job.
If your qualifications are interesting to Behr in general, but there is currently no suitable vacancy, we would be happy to keep your application on file for future positions.

What is the selection process like at Behr?
We would first like to get to know you personally in an interview. Interviews take place at Behr and are conducted by experts from the specialist department and Human Resources. During a second interview, you will have the opportunity to see your new workplace and get to know future colleagues. We are not the only ones who will get to know you in an intensive interview - you will also get to see your potential workplace up close.

Does Behr reimburse interview costs?
We reimburse travel costs for the German railway (2nd class) if receipts are submitted. We also reimburse the same amount if you drive to your interview.

Does Behr offer trainee programs?
We do not offer a trainee program. You will start directly "on the job" and be systematically introduced to your work, supported by a mentor and a personal orientation plan specifically created for you by your supervisor. You will also take part in the Start-up program .

Who can I contact if I have any further questions about applying to Behr?
Our contacts in Human Resources would be pleased to assist you.
