After replacing the compressor don't forget to flush

Lippstadt, March 2010.

Secure more revenues, protect warranty claims: Behr Hella Service offers tips and tricks on how to flush your air-conditioning system

After repairing or replacing compressors, your air-conditioning system will need to be flushed. Flushing removesimpurities and hazardous substances from the air-conditioning circuit. This includes material particles that arise due to damage to the compressor, moisture, elastomers (rubber abrasion) as well as dirty coolant agents and oil. Unless these impurities are removed, they will cause damage to the new compressor or expansion/throttle valves or multi-flow components. Thus, only by flushing correctly can expensive consequential damages be avoided and warranty claims against suppliers be protected. This is the only way to ensure expert repair work and high customer satisfaction.

Thermo Management experts Behr Hella Service offerstwo methods for flushing air-conditioning systems: flushing with coolant and service station or flushing with a flushing agent and drying with Nitrogen. The technical details, advantages and disadvantages of the two methods can be found in a detailed, fully-illustrated technical brochure - — which all garages can download under www.hella.de/amc . Compressors, expansion/throttle values and accumulators cannot be flushed however. These therefore need to be bridged with adapters during the flushing process. After flushing, the valves and filters must be replaced. We recommend POA oil 68 from Behr Hella Service when replenishing the compressor after flushing.Hellaoffers filter elements in 14 different size as extra protection for the compressor against damage from impurities.

Detailed information about air-conditioning tools can also be found in the new Hella air-conditioning brochure. In the diagnosis, maintenance and repair fields of expertise, Hella has only been offering thermal tools and air-conditioning service stations for garage supplies since autumn 2009. These products were distributed by Behr Hella Service up until then. With this realignment, the full expertise of garage equipment is now pooled together at Hella and the entire garage equipment expertise is now housed under a single roof. In the future, Behr Hella Service will focus on the further development of core expertise in the area of “Thermal Management” spare parts.
