Flush After Compressor ReplacementSchwäbisch Hall, April 2011
If the compressor needs to be repaired or replaced, it is really important to flush the entire air-conditioning system afterwards. Only then will contaminants and harmful substances be removed from the air-conditioning circuit and expensive subsequent repairs avoided. This also means that the supplier´s warranty remains valid. Behr Hella Service recommends two methods of flushing the air-conditioning system: Either flushing with refrigerant and service station or flushing with a flushing agent and drying with nitrogen. However, do not flush compressors, expansion/throttling valves or filter dryers and/or accumulators. Use adapters to bridge these components during the flushing process. After flushing, the respective valves and filters must be replaced. The sales partner, Hella, can provide an extensive range of accessories for all these procedures: various flushing devices, adapter set, flushing set and nitrogen set as well as the service station ACTT 200. Filter screens, available in 20 different sizes, offer additional protection for the compressor. PAO 68 oil, provided by Behr Hella Service, is perfect for the subsequent top-up of the compressor.
Note:
Behr Hella Service GmbH, Schwäbisch Hall: The joint venture by the automotive suppliers Behr (specialist for vehicle air-conditioning and engine cooling) and Hella (specialist for components and systems for lighting technology and electronics) deals with the global independent aftermarket for vehicle air-conditioning and engine cooling. The joint venture combines Behr Service activities on the independent aftermarket and the air-conditioning sector of the Hella aftermarket organization. Behr and Hella each have a 50% share in the joint venture. The combination of Hella's global sales organisation with Behr's product know-how and the linking of activities in the field of vehicle air-conditioning and engine cooling for the parts business is a consistent further development of the already existing cooperation between Behr and Hella in the field of climate control and front-end modules.
